How can I contribute?

It’s simple: All you need to do is contact us, so we can send you an endowment letter.

What is the difference between an endowment and a donation?
Endowments are contributions that are preserved in our basic assets; only the interest is used for expenditure. A donation, in contrast, must be used for activities of the Foundation, directly and in a timely manner.

Are there tax rewards for endowments?
Yes, the German fiscal authorities provide noticeable rewards for contributions to our Foundation’s assets. Depending on the amount you give, you can save taxes in the first and the following years. This applies to both private individuals and companies. There are different rules for corporations. Please consult your tax counsellor.

Legacies and inheritance
If you are considering granting us your legacy or appointing us as heir, you can be sure that the German fiscal authorities will not retain anything. Such dispositions are exempt from inheritance or accessions tax. No tax liability arises from the transfer of real estate.

However, tax laws are always subject to change. All information on this page reflect the legislation in force in September 2009, and cannot replace individual consultation with a notary public, a tax counsellor or lawyer.
